A floral anniversary card

A couple at our new church just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. We were invited to a simple get-together at the nursing home where Julie's husband is living. It was a great encouragement to her as we all gathered around talking, eating cake and looking at old family photos.

I made this simple anniversary card for them using decorative paper I had on hand. The paper was so gorgeous, displaying flowers and wavy lines, that I just had to use it as the main artwork on the card. On a piece of paper I used a calligraphy pen to write, "happy anniversary." I made a 3-D flower by cutting out one of the flowers from the left over paper and using another paper flower and button to stack the three together. That's all there was to it--easy, fast and simply beautiful.
