The other side of the board looked like this:
The most tedious part of the checkers game was making the individual pieces. I cut out lots of red and blue circles. Then, I stitched two circles together to make each piece. They are slightly larger than a quarter.
I decided to paint a crown on one side of each piece. I used gold fabric paint for this. It was a lot of fun to do, but couldn't wait to be done to send off to each family.
Next up...the last part of the game--chess!
