Felt flower hair clips

Two girls in our church celebrated their birthdays about a week apart, so I wanted to make them something they would absolutely love!

These felt flower hair clips are not an original idea, but after finding about it here, I figured I could do this myself, too. I chose a few colors and made each girl a set of three hair clips. Each flower is actually six flowers layered on top of each other. I stitched a button all the way through each layer. After gluing on the hair clip to the back, I put them on a card like this...

I cut slits in the card stock to put the clips through so that they could easily be removed. I found the ribbon at a dollar store. It really looks like the stems of the flowers--so cute!

I glued the clips to the back of each flower with hot glue. You can also use E6000 glue (I don't have any yet, but I heard you can find it at Wal-mart or Hobby Lobby).

I was in the nursery with Kaila, one of the birthday girls (remember her?--she has spent a lot of time in our house this year), so she let me take this picture of her wearing the pink one. It didn't stop there because she wanted two of the clips in her hair. Take a look and you'll see what I mean...

Isn't she just a doll? The other girl, Crystal, who is in my Sunday School class didn't make it to church that Sunday, so Q and I visited her this week as a special surprise. She really loved her new hair clips, too. In fact, she put all three of them in her hair and modeled them for us.:)

Simple. Easy. Affordable. Make a bunch for the little girls in your life!
