Sir Teddy had a tea party last night, complete with shortbread cookies for everyone!
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In large bowl, stir butter and sugar until well mixed. Stir in flour. (If dough is crumbly, mix in 1 to 2 tablespoons more butter or margarine, softened.)
3. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut into small shapes with knife or use cookie cutters. On ungreased cookie sheet, place shapes 1/2 inch apart.
4. Bake about 20 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.
This recipe came from The Betty Crocker Cookbook.
