It's been almost a week since we told our church some big news. Quentin and I have been praying and seeking counsel for a while now about moving on to a new ministry. We love the people here and have enjoyed serving the Lord in Colorado. Quentin has been the youth pastor here for five years. I've been here for twelve years, teaching in the Christian school and serving in several capacities at the church. I think it's been the hardest on me since I've called this place home. After church last Sunday night, so many people came up to us in tears telling us that they'll miss us but that they'll be praying for us. Quentin desires to be a senior pastor somewhere in the United States. We don't know where we're going exactly, but there have been some leads.
Will you pray for us as we look for that next place of ministry?
We are very open to anything at this point. Who knows?--we may end up still in Colorado, but in a different town! I've been praying that the Lord would open up a door quickly and that this process will be a learning and growing time for both of us. We are hoping to head out some time in August. I'm also praying that the Lord would give us the desires of our hearts with this new ministry. Quentin has the heart of a pastor and loves to preach; I enjoy encouraging others in music, and hope I can have a children's choir.
God knows what is best in our lives right now, so we are excited for what the future holds.
I thought you'd enjoy this video of my high school choir singing at graduation about a week ago. The song is called, The Lord is my Shepherd, by Lloyd Larson. I held back tears as I directed this choir for the last time. The song is beautiful; I know you will enjoy it.
We'll be praying for you and your husband!

So I heard!! I will miss you, but I'm happy for you as you take this step of faith, trusting in God's leading for your lives!!
ReplyDeleteYes, wherever God leads you, you will find happiness and more people to love and serve bringing people to Heaven with you.
ReplyDeleteI have moved many times, each time exciting but yet scary. After every move, looking back I realize the why's in the move and thank God for His goodness towards me as His child, for we truly are in the palms of His hand.

Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement and prayers. God is good all the time and He knows what is best for us.
ReplyDeleteWe will miss seeing you when we visit, but are excited for you both to see where the Lord leads.
ReplyDeleteTheo! How very exciting for you guys. Have you had any developments in the month since you posted this???
ReplyDeleteMonica--good to hear from you:) Yes, we've had some developments recently. Before we left for jr. camp, we met with a pastor in Lafayette, CO (about 40 minutes from here) who is retiring in the next few months. It is a small church, but it's possible that we may take this church. We're praying about it and seeking counsel before we proceed with this lead. We'll keep you all posted on my blog. Thanks for your prayers.:) How are things going for you?
