The world is confused about what Biblical submission is, and this book clearly defines it. The first half of the book focuses on being the right help meet in our spirit and actions. The second half is devoted to Titus 2:3-5 which says,
"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."
I love how she incorporates so much Scripture throughout the book and explains it so that it is clearly understood. At the end of each chapter is a section with questions to answer. Now that I'm reading it for the fourth time, God is showing me yet more ways for me to be a better helpmeet to Quentin.
This book is available through No Greater Joy Ministries. They've also made a journal to accompany the book to jot down thoughts and prayers. No matter how long you've been married, or are thinking about getting married, this book will encourage your heart and stir you on to be the helpmeet God made you to be.
I have this book, but haven't read it through completely. This motivates me to dig it back out again. (-:
ReplyDeleteThank you Theo for sharing these verses in Titus. The word "own husband" stood out to me. I love how you daily strive to be the best help meet you can be to Quentin, how you don't look at what other wives / women do, comparing yourself, but instead you know who you are and take what God has given you in your gifts and talents using them to be a blessings to others and me. Thanks Theo for this blog you write and the encouragement that you give to me.

You're welcome, Christina. I'm glad I can be a help to you.:)
ReplyDeleteI just saw this post, and I'm so glad to hear the book has been a blessing to you. I just recently got it back from someone I loaned it to, and I know I should read it again. It's been too long.
